Q - Why does NEBO sell everything in counter/box displays?

A - Most NEBO® products are also available in clamshell packaging.

Q - Are batteries included in your products?

A - All flashlights, cap-lights, head lamps and multi-tools that require batteries have batteries included, unless noted otherwise.

Q - Can I use rechargeable batteries in your products?

A - For our flashlights that use alkaline batteries, NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) or NiCd (nickel-cadmium) rechargeable batteries will work fine, but with slightly reduced performance. These batteries output a slightly lower voltage than an alkaline which results in the slightly reduced brightness and runtime.  Rechargeable Li-Ion (lithium ion) cells should NEVER be used. These batteries feature a much higher operating voltage that could damage our products.

For our products that use lithium primary (non-rechargeable) batteries, such as our iPROTEC gun lights, rechargeable Li-Ion cells are fine to use. These operate at very similar voltages and will not harm our products.

Q - Are lasers safe and legal?

A - Lasers of all types are regulated by the FDA. All lasers used in NEBO flashlights meet the required standards and have the appropriate warnings to avoid direct eye contact with any laser.

Q - Are NEBO products water-resistant?

A - Yes, all our products are rated as water-resistant.

Q - What is the Prop 65 warning, and should I be worried before I purchase?

A - Our “WARNING” notices are mandated by California Proposition 65. We believe that our products are completely safe for consumer use and if any Prop 65 listed chemicals were to be present, we believe they would be within the safe harbor levels for exposure as published by Prop 65.

Our lighting products use Polycarbonate (PC) lenses for light projection, and Bisphenol A (BPA) is a precursor chemical used to make PC lenses. Prop 65 identifies BPA as a cause of reproductive toxicity.

Our lighting products use Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic for battery carriers and other enclosures, and Styrene is a precursor chemical used to make ABS plastic.  Prop 65 identifies Styrene as a chemical that can cause cancer.

Please note that PC and ABS plastics are not listed polymers under Prop 65, but the identified precursor chemicals are listed and in some cases these finished plastics may contain low levels of the chemical in the plastic. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution we decide to adopt this marking in 2017 to alleviate any legal issues that could arise from an improperly marked product sold in California.  These warnings are not required by FDA or other Federal agencies.

Q - Is the MagDock and MagCable interchangeable?

A - NEBO products which feature a magnetic charging base (MagDock) may be charged on any MagDock from any of our products, and vice versa. Note that the #6691 REBEL, due to its smaller size, may not fit well on the MagDock base, but will safely charge when carefully centered on the base.

The magnetic charging cable (MagCable) that is supplied with our newer products may not work on older products. If the cable can be attached, it may be used, but if the magnets repel each other, the user should only use a MagDock with that product.
